FLEXIBLE CEMENTITIOUS WATERPROOFING & BOND COAT SYSTEM
Basecrete is a waterproofing bond coat/underlayment/micro-topping for use in all applications where a solid and durable waterproof barrier is required. Basecrete will adhere to most surfaces, is resistant to most chemicals and corrosive agents, and can withstand a high degree of movement while maintaining its integrity. Basecrete protects structures and all water containment vessels from corrosives penetrating the substrate.
Simple to mix and even easier to apply, one kit consists of a 5-gallon bucket of our resin and 3-50lb bags of compound.

Frequently Asked Questions
What tools are required for applying Basecrete?
Common tools include:
For Mixing: Paddle mixer
For Application: Towels, Paint brushes (for detail work), Heavy nap paint rollers (¾ inch – 1 inch), Squeegee, Hopper gun (for spray applications)
For PPE and Set Up: Protective coverings such as tape, plastic, tarps, Gloves, Face Mask for mixing, and other personal protective equipment
How should the substrate be prepared before applying Basecrete?
Ensure the substrate is clean and free of dust and debris. For porous surfaces, you will need to achieve a Saturated Surface Dry (SSD) condition with your first coat—wet, but without standing water. This preparation enhances bonding and prevents premature drying. When you apply your second coat, SSD condition is not required.
What is the recommended method for mixing Basecrete?
Combine: Pour Basecrete Liquid into a clean pail & add the dry Basecrete Cement Compound.
Blend: Blend with an electric paddle mixer until mixture is uniform. Let FALSE SET for 4 minutes.
Apply: Blend for 1 minute and use within 30 minutes. Add more liquid if needed.
How long should I wait between coats of Basecrete?
The second coat can be applied, at minimum, 24 hours after the first coat. Ambient temperature, indoor/outdoor conditions and humidity/moisture levels will extend or accelerate cure times.
What is the most important thing to remember when installing Basecrete?
Never add water under any circumstances and always wait a minimum of 24 hours between coats. This time needs to be extended during cooler temperatures, shade, high humidity or moisture.
Is Basecrete safe for use in potable water applications?
Yes, Basecrete is one of the few waterproofing compounds that are safe for use in drinking water applications.
What is the shelf life of Basecrete components?
Basecrete liquid: Up to 2 years if stored properly and not frozen.
Basecrete compound: Potency may reduce after 12 months.
Where can I purchase Basecrete?
Basecrete is available through over 4,000 dealers in the U.S. You can find a distributor using the Basecrete Find A Distributor locator map.
